Happy Holidays to Our Friends and Family!

We have been blessed with a good year!  My ankle is nearly back to normal, no other major medical problems, no major storms, we haven't gone broke yet and the kids are all back within 1/2 hour drive again.  Life is good!  With a little rain life would be really good!

Pam, CT, Stephanie, Sean and Daniel are the busy family one would expect with two working parents, kids in school and day care etc.  On Mondays,  Geri picks up Stephanie and Sean from school in Waxhaw and brings them here where we spend the afternoon doing fun stuff (after the homework is done).  We have made pinwheels, paper airplanes, parachutes we shot out of the vacuum cleaner, model boats and numerous paper craft things.  Pam picks up Daniel after she gets off work and they join the party for a while before they all leave to go to religious instruction at St. Matthews.   So we pretty much have a guaranteed day a week to keep in touch and watch them grow.

CT is still project manager for ARG Corp. and Pam still works for Trinity Road.   Pam,  CT, Stephanie, Sean & Daniel remain in their house in  Waxhaw, NC  about 20 miles from here.
Chris, Carrie and baby Gregory have returned to Charlotte from Florida and we are very happy about that. Gregory Paul just turned two last October so is the current major explorer in the family.  There is no corner unexplored, no unlocked door unopened nor stairway unclimbed when he is around.  He also shows some musical interest, at least he starts to move and juggle whenever a song comes on.  Both Chris and Carrie are real estate brokers for builders so they are kept very busy and never really get a full day off.  But there is no complaining when they get interrupted to close a deal for somebody on their dream house.  We are really happy to have them back in town.

The market is much better in Charlotte these days and Chris was able to return and still stay with the same company, MI Homes. He is now selling in their Callonwood development, just a few miles from us.  Carrie sells for CP Morgan in their Mountain View community near Gastonia. They are currently living in an apartment in south Charlotte until they find a house.

Last June we went to Minnesota for Geri's family reunion.  I was held on a relatives farm outside of Winthrop near where she grew up.  This is a picture of her with her siblings, Dwayne (Atlanta, GA), Beverly (Eagle Bend, MN), Geri and Richard (China).  There were other folks from all over the country that converged here too for a few days of good times including our Pam and her family.  Notice the cornfield in the background.  Every spare square foot of MN seems to be growing it these days, ethanol you know.
Besides just looking out for me, spending lots of time with the grandkids and keeping the household spotless, Geri still is big on scrap booking and is working on one for Chris that documents our sailing trip in 2006.
We made one of my favorite things a lot easier this year by putting out boat in a slip on Lake Norman.  We no longer have to drag it up there  on the trailer and spend an hour getting the sails rigged.  We are at the Lake Norman Sailing Club which is a very informal and laid back place.  We have made many new friends there and spend a lot more time with our boat. .  We never raced it before but managed a 4th place overall for the season and now have a plaque over our mantle.   I continue to produce my TV show, play a few gigs, maintain a few web sites and record CD's for my songwriter friends (you can sometimes find a tune or two on on my FTP site).
With my ankle pretty much back to normal we are trying to get in better shape with more bike rides and the more time on that darn treadmill.  Oh, the picture, that is Gregory and me in case you didn't figure it out.

Hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas, a great holiday season and  a happy and healthy new year.

Cheers…….
